BOARD OF DIRECTORS
Ranjit Mullakady is a successful businessman, loving husband, and caring father who has always been passionate about movies. He left his hometown, Mumbai, almost two decades ago for Red Deer, Alberta where he started a screen-printing company from scratch. Today, he owns a full service sign company with a reputation for quality and service. Before leaving India, he had been a studio production manager in Bollywood for almost six years. He is an extremely hard worker and that has served him well in Canada. As a founding member and the president of Central Alberta Film Festival, he has an amazing opportunity to draw from his past experiences and give back to this community.
Don Tjart has been involved in numerous national and international television commercial campaigns as well as independent film and television projects. He also received the coveted Kari Award for Best of Series Performance at the 2010 Bessie Awards (Canadian Awards for Commercials). Don has toured nationally with the very funny two-man theatrical show “Fish Eyes” with Toronto-based actor Jason Hildebrand. Don currently works in a local Red Deer church in arts and communications.
Patricia Arango was born and educated in Colombia. She is a psychologist with a master’s degree in Social & Community Psychology. She has worked for Toronto General Hospital, Chatham Kent Women’s Shelter and Princess Margaret Hospital. Patricia moved to Red Deer, Alberta in 2014 where she is the executive director of Central Alberta Sexual Assault Support Centre. She has a real appreciation for arts and entertainment in the community.
In 2008 Stefan Forschle immigrated from Germany and came to Red Deer. His vision and passion for our city is exemplary. Stefan operates Arbor Valley Cabinet Gallery in downtown and also runs an import business for high-end hardware and kitchen accessories. Stefan is a former song writer and amateur musician. He shares the passion to support and encourage the next generation of artists, producers and directors and believes building the local film industry is vital for the growth and diverse development of Red Deer.
Bill Ramji has lived in Red Deer, Alberta, Canada for over three decades since moving from Mombasa, Kenya in the early 70’s. Through years of hard work and perseverance, he has been successful in operating numerous businesses, ranging from commercial truck washes to restaurants. Currently, Bill oversees three commercial properties including a multiplex cinema in Red Deer, Alberta.
